MEDWAY – Detectives investigating a string of high-value thefts in north and east Kent have charged two teenagers in connection with a series of residential burglaries and vehicle thefts.

The charges follow a police probe into six separate incidents reported between February 17 and March 10, 2026. The offences occurred at various locations between Cliffe and Whitstable, where suspects reportedly gained entry to homes to secure car keys and personal valuables. Items including designer handbags and luxury watches were stolen alongside high-end vehicles, including a Volvo, a Mercedes, and multiple BMWs.

Following an investigation, two suspects were apprehended on March 10. An 18-year-old man from Strood faces charges for six counts of burglary and the theft of five motor vehicles. A 19-year-old man from London has also been charged with four counts of burglary and the theft of four motor vehicles.

Both individuals appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on March 11. One defendant was remanded in custody, while the second was released on conditional bail. The pair are scheduled to appear next at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, April 13.
