Folkestone Community Safety Event: Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls

A community safety event focused on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) will take place at the Bouverie Place Shopping Centre in Folkestone on Tuesday, 31 March, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. This initiative provides a safe and welcoming environment for anyone seeking information, advice, or support regarding domestic abuse, coercive control, stalking, and harassment.

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with professionals from the Police, Local Council, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA), Mediation Services, and the Shepway Pastors. These experts will provide guidance on recognizing the signs of abuse, offer advice on reporting concerns, and share details about available local services.

The event aims to empower the community through access to professional support and practical resources. Participants can collect free safety items and informative leaflets while learning more about the various support networks active in the area. Whether individuals have specific questions or simply wish to understand the services available in their community, all are encouraged to attend.
