A significant drug supply network has been dismantled following a proactive investigation by law enforcement in Canterbury.
Detectives launched an inquiry after identifying mobile phone lines that were frequently contacting known drug users within the city throughout February and March 2026. The subsequent investigation allowed officers to trace these communication links to specific locations across the West Midlands and East London.
The operation moved into an enforcement phase on 17 March 2026, when officers executed a search at a residence in Ilford. A woman was detained at the scene, where authorities recovered substantial quantities of suspected cocaine and heroin along with two mobile phones. The following day, a male suspect was apprehended in Coventry. During that arrest, officers seized individual wraps of narcotics, another mobile phone, and a locking knife.
Legal proceedings moved swiftly as authorities authorized a total of nine charges against the individuals involved.
Both suspects, aged 18, face multiple counts including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine. One was additionally charged with possession of an offensive weapon. Following an initial appearance at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 19 March, both parties were granted conditional bail and are scheduled to appear before Canterbury Crown Court in late April.
