Suspect in Serious Ashford GBH Case Remanded in Custody


A 36-year-old man has been remanded in custody following a serious assault in Ashford that left a victim with significant head injuries. The incident occurred in Osborne Road during the early hours of Monday morning, prompting a large-scale emergency response.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was stabilized at the scene before being moved to a specialist facility in London. His condition is currently described as serious. Following a 24-hour investigation, authorities charged the suspect with grievous bodily harm with intent. He appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and is now awaiting a trial date at Canterbury Crown Court in April.

Police clarified that a second individual arrested shortly after the incident will face no further action. Investigators continue to seek witnesses to help piece together the events leading up to the struggle.
