A profound sadness has fallen upon Kent College in Canterbury following the tragic death of an 18-year-old pupil.

Kent Police and paramedics attended a medical incident at the school on Whitstable Road on Monday night. It has been confirmed that the young man passed away. The police have stated that his death is not being treated as suspicious.


Mark Turnbull, head of Kent College, said in a statement:


“We are deeply saddened by the death of one of our boarding pupils. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family, friends and our wider school community. We are now supporting our pupils and their families. We will take time to bring our whole community together and offer further support.”

The senior school was closed for day pupils on Tuesday. It expects to reopen on Wednesday.
