Ch Insp Liz Cokayne-Delves presents the new computer equipment to Andy Dennis and Carol Clayton from Future Skills CIC.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Kent Police Property Fund, the brilliant Future Skills programme has been kitted out with brand-spanking-new computer equipment, ensuring every young person they support has the tools they need to shine.

The fantastic Future Skills CIC is already doing sterling work in the area, guiding and supporting numerous young individuals as they navigate the pathways to employment and training opportunities. This timely donation of five snazzy Chromebooks and a powerful laptop means that all attendees will now have seamless access to vital IT facilities, empowering them to build their skills and reach their full potential.

The shiny new tech was officially handed over on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, by none other than Dover’s District Commander, Chief Inspector Liz Cokayne-Delves, to the dedicated duo from Future Skills, Carol Clayton and Andy Dennis.

A clearly delighted Ch Insp Cokayne-Delves beamed,

“It’s an absolute pleasure to be able to contribute to such a wonderful cause. Supporting and encouraging the younger generation towards a brighter future is paramount, and by providing these opportunities to develop new skills, we’re also helping to steer them away from the risks of criminal behaviour.”

The funds for this uplifting initiative come directly from the Police Property Fund, a pot of money generated from the sale of unclaimed lost property and items seized during police operations. This resourceful fund ensures that money raised goes right back into the heart of local communities across Kent, supporting vital services like Future Skills throughout the year.

This wonderful partnership between Kent Police and Future Skills is a shining example of how community collaboration can make a real difference in the lives of young people, paving the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for Dover!
