Police in Gillingham are urgently appealing for witnesses after a shocking assault on a woman on Wednesday evening. At approximately 7:10 PM on April 23, 2025, the victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking along Seaview Road when an unknown man reportedly pulled her into a nearby alleyway.

The woman sustained facial and leg injuries after the man repeatedly punched and kicked her. Following the attack, the suspect, described as wearing dark clothing and light-colored trainers, fled the scene. The victim later sought hospital treatment for her injuries.

Detective Sergeant Richard Taylor is urging anyone with information to come forward.

He said:

‘We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a man acting suspiciously in the area to contact us. Our investigators are also asking motorists with dashcam and residents with CCTV to check for any relevant footage, particularly between 7pm and 7.30pm.’
