A suspect has been charged by detectives investigating a disturbance in Tunbridge Wells.

Police responded to reports at 7:37 pm on Friday concerning a man allegedly armed with a kitchen knife making threats towards multiple individuals on Dorking Road before departing.

At approximately 10:40 pm, authorities received reports of a further disturbance outside a property on Quarry Hill Road, Tonbridge. Following searches in areas near Vauxhall Lane, a man was stopped at 12:50 am on Saturday.

The arrested individual was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries before being taken into custody. A 31-year-old man from the Coxheath area has since been charged with affray, actual bodily harm, assaulting an emergency worker, and threatening a person with a blade.

The suspect has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on May 12, 2025.
