Suspect arrested following reports of threats with knife in Tunbridge Wells street

A suspect has been arrested in connection with allegations he brandished a knife during a disturbance in a Tunbridge Wells street.

Police were called at 7.37pm on Friday 12 April 2024 to Dorking Road, where it is reported a man armed with a kitchen knife had made threats towards several people.

The man then left the scene and searches by responding officers were assisted by a police helicopter.

At around 10.40pm a further disturbance linked to the suspect was reported outside an address in Quarry Hill Road, Tonbridge. Police searches then led to areas close to nearby Vauxhall Lane and at 12.50am on Saturday 13 April, a 30-year-old man was arrested.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment to injuries and later taken into custody.
