Kent Police are appealing to the public following a serious assault that occurred in Maidstone on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at approximately 1:00 PM at the junction of Square Hill Road and Mote Road.
Authorities report that a man in his thirties was allegedly attacked with a baseball bat, resulting in serious injuries that needed hospital treatment. The victim has since been discharged. In addition to the assault, the window of the victim’s van was also reportedly damaged during the incident.
Detectives launched an immediate investigation, leading to the arrest of a suspect the following day. A man from Marden, has subsequently been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and criminal damage.
The man appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, April 5, and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court for a further hearing on Friday, May 2.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and who has not yet spoken to the police to contact them. Motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for relevant footage.
