Kent Police have formally identified the suspect linked to the fatal shooting of Lisa Smith in Knockholt. The victim’s husband, Edward Smith, has been named as the individual connected to the incident.
Lisa Smith, 43, was fatally shot outside a pub on Main Road, Knockholt, on Friday, February 14, 2025. Following an investigation, Kent Police confirmed that Edward Smith, 43, who was married to the victim, was the primary suspect.
Later the same evening, officers located Mr. Smith’s vehicle abandoned on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge. Subsequent inquiries confirmed that Mr. Smith had entered the River Thames. His body was recovered from the river on Friday, March 7.
A coroner’s investigation will now proceed into the circumstances surrounding both deaths. The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate will provide assistance to the coroner’s office during the investigation.
