A man has been charged with a string of offences including burglary and criminal damage following an early morning incident in Canterbury on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025.

Kent Police responded to multiple reports of a suspect damaging vehicles and attempting to enter properties in the Glenside Avenue area shortly after 3:00 AM. Officers were initially called to a report of attempted entry at a residence on Glenside Avenue, alongside reports of vehicle vandalism.

Subsequently, a separate report was received concerning a forced entry at a property on Hudson Road. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arriving.

While responding to reports of a man attempting to open door handles on Glenside Avenue, officers conducted an area search which resulted in the arrest of a suspect in a rear garden on Regency Place.

A man aged 29, of no fixed address, has been charged with burglary, attempted burglary, four counts of criminal damage, two counts of assault, and possession of cocaine. He appeared at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 24th, 2025, and was remanded in custody.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity between 3:00 AM and 4:30 AM on Saturday, February 22nd, particularly in the Hudson Road and Military Road areas.
