Peterborough man charged over Sittingbourne burglary

A 43-year-old man from Peterborough has been charged with burglary and a number of related offences following a rapid response by Kent Police to a break-in at a Milton Regis business.

A man from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, was apprehended shortly after officers were called to a High Street, Milton Regis, business at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025. Reports indicated a broken window and theft of items before the suspect fled on foot.

Police detained a man following a search, during which a cash register was recovered. He was subsequently charged on Saturday, February 22, with burglary, going equipped for burglary, criminal damage, possession of a bladed article, and obstructing a police officer.

The suspect appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court later that day and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, March 21.
