An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with two alleged robberies involving a knife in Gillingham. The alleged robber from the town appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court following his arrest in Gravesend.
The charges stem from two separate incidents reported on Brompton Road, Gillingham. On Monday, February 10th, a teenage boy reported being approached by a man who allegedly threatened him with a knife before stealing his jacket, air pods, and cash. Just six days later, on Sunday, February 16th, another teenager reported a similar incident, claiming his bag was stolen by a man wielding a knife in the same location.
Following an investigation, Kent Police arrested a man four days later. He has been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of possessing a bladed article in a public place and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, March 21st.
