Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was assaulted and an attempt made to steal his e-scooter in Margate on Wednesday, February 19th.

The incident occurred around 7pm at the junction of Approach Road and Northdown Park Road, near Lower Northdown Avenue. The victim, riding his e-scooter, was approached by another boy on an e-scooter who assaulted him and attempted to steal his vehicle. A weapon, described as a taser-like device, was reportedly used in the attempted robbery.

A passing woman intervened, causing the would-be thief to flee empty-handed. The victim, thankfully, was uninjured.

Detectives are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, especially the woman who stopped to help. They are also appealing for anyone with private CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.
