Woman killed in Valentine’s Day shooting at Knockholt pub – Search for suspect in River Thames underway

A woman has been killed in a Valentine’s Day shooting in Knockholt, Kent, prompting a search of the River Thames for a suspect believed to have fallen from the Queen Elizabeth II bridge.

Kent Police responded to a call at 7:02 pm on Friday, February 14th, to Main Road, Knockholt, where they discovered a woman with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The victim has been identified by police as 43-year-old Lisa Smith from Slough, although formal identification is yet to be completed. Police confirmed that Ms. Smith and the suspect were known to each other.  

Following the incident, a vehicle and a firearm connected to the suspect were recovered near the Dartford Crossing. Witnesses reported seeing a man, believed to be the suspect, on the wrong side of the bridge barrier. Authorities are now concentrating their search efforts on the River Thames in an attempt to recover his body.  

The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
