A woman in her 40s has been killed in a shooting at the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, Kent.

Police were called to the Main Road pub at 7:02 pm on Friday, February 14, 2025, following reports of a disturbance.  Officers and paramedics attended the scene, where the woman was found with gunshot wounds and pronounced dead. Her next of kin has been informed.  

Detectives have launched a murder investigation and a vehicle linked to the incident was later recovered at the Dartford Crossing, where a firearm was also found.  

Police are continuing their inquiries to identify and locate all those potentially involved. They are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Updated: Serious incident at pub in Knockholt, Sevenoaks

Kent Police was called at 7.02pm on Friday 14 February 2025 to a report of a disturbance at the Three Horseshoes pub in Main Road, Knockholt.

Officers attended the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance Service where a woman in her 40s had suffered injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. She was declared deceased at the scene and a murder investigation is underway.

Her next of kin has been informed.

The suspect, a man who is believed to be known to the victim, left the area, and enquiries are ongoing to locate him. As part of enquiries, officers attended the Queen Elizabeth II bridge where a car linked to the incident was recovered. A gun was also found within the vehicle and seized.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector David Higham, said:

‘Call handlers received reports of a man on the wrong side of the barrier and we are not ruling out the possibility that he may have entered the water.

‘We are currently only looking for one suspect and do not believe there to be an ongoing risk to the public.

‘Specialist officers continue to work with the families of both parties involved to support them following this tragic incident.’
