Detectives investigating a serious assault in Dover are trying to track down three further witnesses to the incident which took place at around 10.10pm on Friday 18 January 2025 when a woman allegedly assaulted another woman with a kitchen knife in Biggin Street.

Security staff at a nearby pub intervened to restrain the suspect before police arrived and a 47 year old woman was arrested and taken into custody.

The victim was treated at hospital for injuries to her back and has now been discharged.

The suspect has since been charged with attempted murder and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place. She has been remanded in custody ahead of her next court appearance later this year.

A police investigation into the incident remains ongoing and CCTV enquiries and witness interviews have suggested there are at least three further witnesses to the incident who officers have yet to speak to.

Police want to speak to a man who may have been in or outside The Eight Bells public house and two women who were also in the area at around the time of the assault.

Anyone with any information regarding the assault, or who saw a woman behaving suspiciously in the area that night, should call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/9572/25.
