Closure order on a property in the town Image: Kent Police
After receiving multiple complaints about crime and incidents of disorder at an address in Royal Pier Road, Gravesend, police officers warned the occupants to stop or face the consequences.
When the offensive conduct continued, a closure order was sought and granted at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday 14 January 2025. It will last for three months and any unauthorised person entering the property during this time, risks a fine and a prison sentence. The premises was secured and a sign has been placed on the door with a warning that it is an offence to enter.
Police Sergeant Steve Cole said:
‘Once again we have had to take action against unruly occupants of a house in the borough who failed to heed our warnings.
‘It is totally unacceptable that residents of one property can have such a detrimental effect on the quality of life of other residents and we are determined to tackle the problem.
‘We are currently working with council colleagues and other housing providers to deal with further problematic households. I would urge any other residents who are suffering similar issues to contact us so that we can work to resolve any concerns.’
