A month-long crackdown on shoplifting in Tunbridge Wells has resulted in nearly 60 charges against suspects.

Between December 1st and January 8th, officers solved 50 out of 80 reported thefts from local retailers.

Recent arrests include Finbar Caffrey, 41, charged with stealing nearly £2,000 worth of goods from Superdrug and Boots. Caffrey pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in February.

Detective Inspector Rik Spicer said the operation aims to reassure residents and businesses that police are actively targeting shoplifters.
