Kent Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted during a robbery attempt in Canterbury in the early hours of Sunday, January 5th, 2024.

The incident occurred around 2:11 am on Military Road when a woman was approached by an unknown man who demanded her purse. During the altercation, the woman sustained facial injuries. She was able to leave the area in a vehicle with a third party.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, slim build, with medium-length dark hair. He was wearing a hoody, a silver chain, and carrying a small Nike bag.

In a separate incident around the same time and area, police received reports of a disturbance on Starle Close. A man is reported to have made threats to two other men outside a property. The victims sought refuge in a nearby building, and the suspect fled on foot.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with relevant information about either incident, including private CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
