Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old man was robbed on Christmas Eve. The incident occurred between 9:00 PM and 9:15 PM as the victim was walking along Murston Road.
Two suspects, riding on electric bikes, confronted the victim and demanded his wallet. A struggle ensued, during which the victim was assaulted. The suspects then made off with the victim’s mobile phone, fleeing the scene along Canterbury Road.
The suspects are described as being white and in their mid-20s. One had long thick black hair and a beard and was wearing a black or grey tracksuit. The other had short light hair and was wearing a balaclava and black tracksuit.
Officers have been completing enquiries into the incident including the examination of CCTV in the area. They are now urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact the appeal line. They would particularly like to speak to a taxi driver in a white vehicle who may have passed the incident. Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for relevant footage.
