Kent Police officers have successfully disrupted a suspected organised crime operation in Lydd, leading to the arrest of two men.
On Wednesday, December 18th, officers executed a warrant at an industrial unit in Dengemarsh Road following reports of suspicious activity. Inside, they discovered a large-scale cannabis cultivation containing over 2,000 plants. A substantial amount of harvested cannabis, along with sophisticated growing equipment, was also seized.
Two men, aged 31 and 32, both with no fixed address, were arrested and subsequently charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis. They appeared before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on December 19th and were remanded in custody. The case will proceed to Canterbury Crown Court on January 20th, 2025.
