Appeal after horrific fatal collision on motorway near Faversham

Kent Police was called shortly after 8pm on Wednesday 20 November 2024, to a collision involving a pedestrian and a number of vehicles on the coastbound carriageway of the M2 motorway, between junctions 5 and 6.

Patrols and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and a man in his 50s was confirmed deceased at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

An investigation into the circumstances is underway. Anyone who saw what happened, including seeing the pedestrian or vehicles prior to the incident, or who may have dashcam footage, should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. Kent police advise the closure will remain in place into the evening for specialist investigation and clear-up work.
