Thanet District Council join forces with police

A joint operation by Kent Police, Kent Special Constabulary, and Thanet District Council has resulted in the seizure of drugs and the identification of potential drug users in the area.

The operation, which took place on Friday, 11 October, focused on pubs and clubs in Ramsgate, Margate, and Broadstairs. Officers conducted searches of individuals and premises to ensure compliance with licensing conditions and promote safer socialising.

A police dog trained in drug detection assisted in identifying 12 people suspected of having come into contact with drugs. Quantities of cannabis and class A drugs were seized, and seven people were issued community resolutions for possession of drugs.

Inspector Dave Wagg said,

“This operation demonstrates our commitment to tackling drug-related crime and ensuring the safety of our communities. We will continue to work closely with our partners to disrupt drug supply chains and create a safer environment for everyone.”
