Kent Police attended the Broadmead Road area of the town after being called to the suspected theft in progress at around 12.30am on Thursday 3 October 2024.

At the scene it was confirmed that three vehicles parked in the area had been broken into and items, believed to be stolen including a parking badge, phone chargers and sunglasses were recovered. A folding lock knife was also seized.

Within 15 minutes of being called to the scene, officers made an arrest and the following day a man aged 33, of no fixed address, was charged with criminal damage and theft offences, as well as vehicle interference and possession of a knife in a public place. He was remanded to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court.
