Over 500 job seekers and volunteers flock to the Big Dover Fair

Figures now in show that more than 500 people attended the third Big Dover Jobs and Volunteering Fair to find out about work opportunities in the area. 

The annual event was organised by Dover District Council (DDC), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Port of Dover, with Stagecoach providing a free shuttle bus throughout the day.

Twenty-five employers attended along with 19 skills and voluntary options providers to share potential opportunities with those who came along. Figures so far show that during the event, 23 provisional job offers were made as well as a significant number of sign-ups to volunteer placements. Further job offers, interviews and opportunities are expected over the coming weeks as a result of the event.
