Police rushed to Knightrider Street, Maidstone shortly after 7am on Tuesday 24 September 2024, after a man had been seen brandishing a suspected handgun.
It is alleged that when an initial patrol attended, the gun was reportedly used to fire a projectile at the police vehicle.
A suspect has since been arrested in Maidstone following reports an air weapon was deliberately fired at a police car and a 41-year-old man, of no fixed address was later charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
He has been bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 10 October 2024.
