Suspected robber charged after cars stolen near Dartford

A suspected robber has been charged following reports of victims being assaulted and their cars stolen near Dartford.

On the evening of Wednesday, 4 September 2024, a motorist briefly stopped at Dartford Heath, where it is alleged a group of men wearing face masks smashed his car window and assaulted him before stealing his vehicle. Kent Police were then contacted after a second victim was reportedly assaulted by men wearing face coverings, with his car being stolen at Rochester Way on Sunday, 8 September.

Detectives investigating the incidents arrested a suspect on Friday, 13 September. They also seized a stolen vehicle and a car key. The suspect was later charged with two robberies and an attempted burglary at a property in Colt Stead, New Ash Green, on 21 August. The individual appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court the following day and was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, 11 October.
