A suspect is due to appear in court charged with eight shoplifting offences in Dover.

Local officers investigated a number of shoplifting reports in the town, alleged to have taken place at commercial premises between 17 July 2024 and 1 September 2024. Goods totalling around £659 were stolen from businesses, including beef joints, aftershave, and bottles of whisky.

As part of the investigation, Oliver Lee, of Dour Street, Dover, was arrested and charged with the thefts on Monday 2 September. The 31-year-old was remanded and due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 3 September.
