Four suspects from Derby and Grays in Essex face a total of 20 charges related to the theft of high-value trainers from a sports shop in Ashford.

Kent Police reported that the suspects had fraudulently swapped expensive trainers for cheaper ones which were paid for at self-service tills. The incidents occurred at a store in Ashford’s designer outlet on August 3, 24, and 31, 2024.

During the investigation, Ashford officers seized over 400 boxes of shoes from a property in Essex, with 45 boxes identified as originating from the Ashford store.

On Monday, September 2, charges of theft and fraud were brought against the four suspects. All four were remanded to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 2.
