Kent Fire and Rescue Service reported a blaze on Saturday evening, 24 August 2024, in which a shed and multiple fence panels were destroyed at a house in Sittingbourne after a fire in an incinerator spread to a shed and fencing.

Two fire engines and crews were quickly able to extinguish the flames, with no injuries reported.

Following the incident, crews are reminding people to ensure that any bonfire outside the property should be kept well away from anything that could catch alight, like trees, bushes and buildings. Burning should be supervised at all times, and there should always be a bucket of water nearby.
