Library image : Man in his 60s was airlifted to a London hospital

Emergency services were called just before 12.20pm on Friday 9 August 2024 to a two-vehicle collision involving a grey Lexus and a double decker bus on the A28 Island Road, between Sarre and Upstreet.

Police alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene where eight people were reported to have sustained injuries.

One man in his 60s was airlifted to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition. His next of kin have been made aware.
