A suspect has been charged in connection with violent thefts against two women following alleged offences on Sunday 4 August 2024, which left one victim requiring hospital treatment.

The first incident was in Church Street, Maidstone between 6pm and 7pm, where it is reported the suspect stole a bank card from a woman and attempted to use it in a nearby shop. The victim was said to have been struck in the face.

Later, between 11pm and 11.15pm, a second woman reported being followed and violently assaulted in an area between Knightrider Street and the Millennium Bridge near All Saints Church. It is alleged a man then ran off with her bag. The victim suffered injuries including cuts, grazes and a head wound.
