Witnesses are being sought following two suspicious incidents in Chatham which officers believe may be linked.

  • On Saturday 1 June 2024, a man on a bicycle is reported to have followed a boy as he walked to and from a shop in Palmerston Avenue. The boy did not know the man and told his parents when he got home, who then called the police.
  • Kent Police was contacted again on Thursday 13 June, after a woman and her child were distressed after they were approached by a man they did not know, near the junction of Symons Avenue and Redvers Road. The man then ran from the scene towards White Road and Glencoe Road.

In both incidents the suspect is described as black, clean-shaven, around five feet and eleven inches tall and of slim build. He was also wearing a green and blue football shirt.

In one incident he was also described as wearing black jogging bottoms and black slider styled shoes.
