At 10.15pm on Thursday 20 June 2024, emergency call handlers received reports a motorbike had been stolen from Esparto Way near Dartford.

It is reported four people wearing motorcycle helmets broke into a garage and took the vehicle, which was said to be chained to the wall.

The suspects were disturbed by the owner of the property, and reportedly threatened him with a hammer before leaving the scene with the bike.

Two teenage boys were later arrested and have subsequently been charged following the theft of a motorbike from South Darenth.

A search has led to the recovery of the motorbike and the seizure of tools and a quantity of cannabis.

A 16-year-old boy from Gravesend has since been charged with robbery and possession with intent to supply cannabis. A 17-year-old boy from Erith was also charged with robbery, criminal damage, and possession of cannabis. Both have been bailed pending a hearing at Medway Youth Court on 8 August.
