A woman reported that on Thursday 30 May 2024, a male stranger got onto the same bus her and her friend who were traveling from Snodland towards Larkfield.
As they made their way to the top deck a man sat in the next row to them but when the victim went to go back downstairs she reported that as she walked past him the man sexually assaulted her over her clothing.
Following an investigation which included reviewing CCTV footage by the Maidstone Vulnerability Investigation Team, officers arrested a man.
On 8 June 2024 a man aged 22, from Chatham was charged with sexual assault on a female. He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court where he was bailed to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 30 September.
