Kent Police was called at 4.14pm on Friday 31 May 2024 to the coastbound carriageway of the A2 following a collision involving a lorry and a van.
It was reported two lorries were parked on the hard shoulder of the A2, when a white Mercedes Sprinter van collided with one of the vehicles. The driver of the van, a 50-year-old man died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The passenger, a 20-year-old man received serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a serious condition. The driver of the lorry suffered minor injuries.
