A man from London arrested in connection with a disturbance in Sheerness has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, assaulting an emergency worker and four counts of criminal damage.

The 30-year-old was arrested following an incident which started inside a property in Coronation Road at around 7.10pm on Monday 13 May 2024. During the incident it is alleged that the man left the address on foot towards the High Street where he assaulted members of the public and damaged vehicles.

Two of the victims, a man and a woman, were later taken to hospital for medical attention to their injuries.
