A 34-year-old man has appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court after he was charged over 500 cannabis plants that were discovered growing in Herne Bay last week.
Officers from Canterbury district’s Community Safety Unit visited the site in Sea Street on Thursday 9 May 2024 after concerns were raised. When officers entered the building they found around 500 plants at different stages of growth, which were seized along with growing equipment.
As part of an investigation by East Kent CID, a suspect has been charged with cultivating cannabis and dishonestly using electricity. He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 11 May and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 10 June.
