A special constable has assisted a regular officer in the arrest of a suspected drug dealer and the seizure of multiple cocaine bags in Gravesend. On Sunday 5 May 2024, the pair were on patrol near Kendall Gardens when they spotted a man sitting in a stationary BMW with the engine running.

Believing he was involved in the supply of drugs, the occupant was informed he was being detained for a search. The officers seized some cannabis and 18 deals of cocaine from a bag that was retrieved from a nearby garden. They also recovered approximately £3,500 in cash. The man was arrested, and a subsequent search of an address led to the seizure of a mobile phone and electronic scales.

The man from Gravesend, was later charged by detectives from Medway CID, with possessing cocaine with intent to supply and possession of cannabis. The 21-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 7 May. He was also bailed in connection with an offence of being in control of a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs.
