Police from the Swale Community Safety Unit and Local Policing Team searched an address in Cavell Way Sittingbourne on Thursday 18 April 2024 under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Once inside the premises, the officers seized around 30 suspected wraps of cocaine, three kilos of cannabis, mobile phones and digital scales as well as recovering a machete, locking flick knife and a knuckle duster. Two men were arrested and taken into custody.

A man from Newington was later charged by investigators from North Kent CID, with possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

The 25-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on the following day. He was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be fixed. A man in his 20s from Sittingbourne who was also detained, was later bailed to return to the police station, pending further investigation.
