Kent Police was called at 5.40am on Saturday 13 April 2024 to a report that two people had entered an address in Dymchurch village and had stolen items including jewellery, cash and keys. It is alleged that the victim – a woman in her 80s – was also assaulted during the incident.

A swift investigation by Kent Police has led to the arrest of a man and a woman in Folkestone and the pair have subsequently been charged. Detectives from East Kent CID later charged a 45-year-old man with aggravated burglary and a woman aged 38, with aggravated burglary and assaulting an emergency worker.

The man from Folkestone and the woman of no fixed address, were both remanded to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 15 April.
