Kent Police report that a suspect is to appear in court accused of stealing hundreds of pounds worth of goods from stores in Ramsgate, Whitstable and Herne Bay.
It was reported that meat and other items worth £79 were taken from a supermarket in Sea Street, Herne Bay on 12 February 2024.
A total of £126 worth of meat and laundry items were stolen from a supermarket in Oxford Street, Whitstable on 6 March, and the following day, similar items worth a total of £116 were taken from a supermarket in Grange Road, Ramsgate.
An investigation by the Thanet Victim Based Crime Team into the three shoplifting reports resulted in a man’s arrest.
The 38-year-old, of no fixed address, was charged with three counts of shoplifting and is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court via virtual link on Friday 5 April.
