Police investigating an attempted assault and affray at Asda in Greenhithe are appealing for witnesses after a report that a teenage boy was involved in an altercation with a boy he knew.

Kent Police was called to the store at around 6.30pm on Saturday 9 March 2024 but the suspect had already left the scene. He was arrested a short time later.

Following initial enquiries, investigators are keen to identify and speak to two potential witnesses who were in the store at the time. It is believed one of the boys fell into a woman’s trolley and that another person left the area after giving information to a member of staff.

A 17-year-old from Greenhithe has since been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and affray.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Kent Police on 01474 366149, quoting reference number 46/38682/24. People can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, or by using the online form on their website.
