A crime crackdown spanning three days, saw law enforcement authorities in Gravesend confiscate two knives and significant quantities of illicit drugs. The operation, aimed at curbing criminal activity, has sent a strong message to offenders in the area.
On Monday, March 18, 2024, vigilant officers conducting proactive patrols on Terrace Street noticed a man acting suspiciously. A subsequent search of the individual led to the discovery of a lock knife and a stash of both class A and class B drugs. The 40-year-old suspect was promptly arrested and later released on bail, pending further investigations.
Just two days later, on Wednesday, March 20, officers intercepted another man acting suspiciously, this time in Milton Place. A search revealed a second lock knife along with a substantial quantity of deal bags containing class A drugs.
A 21-year-old man currently of no fixed address, faces serious charges of possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of a bladed weapon. He appeared before the Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 21, where he entered a plea of not guilty to the charges. Pending legal proceedings he remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Woolwich Crown Court on April 16.
