A suspected drug driver was arrested by eagle-eyed Kent Police officers who stopped her car after noticing it had defective tyres.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit were on patrol on the evening of Wednesday 6 March 2024 and noticed a suspicious vehicle in Quarrywood Industrial estate, Aylesford and requested it to stop but following checks on the car police found that it was not insured, had no valid MOT or vehicle excise licence and had defective rear tyres and one of the front tyres was showing cords. The driver also had an expired licence and failed a roadside drugs wipe.

A 36-year-old woman from Maidstone was arrested on suspicion of traffic offences including drug driving and dangerous and unsuitable use of a vehicle. She has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
