Kent Police was called to a report of a man and a woman who were attempting to rob an elderly pensioner in Rainham High Street at around 1pm on Monday 11 March 2024. Two robbery suspects were quickly arrested.
It is alleged the man grabbed the victim’s handbag and although the pensioner kept hold of it a female assailant reportedly punched her face. Both suspects then ran from the scene with the victim’s property.
At around 4pm on the same day, officers arrested a 24-year-old man from London and a 21-year-old woman from Tunbridge Wells in connection with the incident.
They remain in custody while enquiries continue.
