Man charged following serious assault in Birchington

Kent Police was called at 1.49pm on Saturday 9 March 2024 following a report of an altercation in Station Road, Birchington.

Police along with South East Coast Ambulance Service arrived on the scene and a man in his 40s was taken to a London hospital, where he remains receiving treatment for a serious injury.

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have since charged a man from Birchington with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The 31-year-old is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 March.
