Six fire engines and a height vehicle were called to a fire reported to be in a block of flats in Richmond Street, Herne Bay which broke out around 4.00am this morning, 9 March 2024.
The road was closed and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a combination of high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets, with a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke and fumes from neighbouring properties that have also been affected.
One person has been treated for smoke inhalation and burns.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
